The Dell Venue 8 Pro Tablet Portfolio

The Dell Venue 8 Pro has been fun to review but I kept getting asked about the case.  I didn’t buy the case or the stylus because I thought the costs vs. my use of them would not work out.  I finally broke down and ordered the case and wanted to share some thoughts on it.

I unboxed and put the tablet in the case in this video.

The first thing you will notice is that I struggled finding the way to make the tablet sit at an angle.  The kickstand portion of the case.  I finally figured out two ways.  There might be more.WP_20131113_005

It has a very slick outside and a velour / suede feel on the flap that will cover the glass.  The tablet rests in a plastic shell designed specifically for the Venue 8 Pro.

The inside suede portion is already gathering crumbs and hinting to me that snacking at my desktop is not good for me. (don’t you just hate when reviewers leave their prints and dust all over the thing?)

What is that? Leather?

The plastic shell hold the tablet in nicely and protects all 4 corners.

I think the outside of the case is a bit slippery but protection from a small fall should be pretty good with this case.  The problem i have with it is the cost. $39.99 plus tax is pretty steep.  However, it’s the only game in town if you own this tablet.  Otherwise, maybe a slip cover would be good for travel.

I say if your a homebody, save your money.  If you are a traveler and/or purchased the stylus you might as well get the case!
